Shake Shack x Nyesha Arrington: Inside Our Latest Los Angeles Chef Collab

Get excited, LA! To welcome the new year and the reopening of our newly renovated WeHo Shack, we’re bringing our first Shake Shack chef collab of the year exclusively to you. It comes in the form of the Aisoon Burger and Kombu Fries courtesy of Shake Shack Culinary Director, Mark Rosati, and ‘Top Chef’ Alum Nyesha Arrington. The Bulgogi beef cheeseburger features braised oxtail marmalade, charred onion, and mayo paired with crispy crinkle cuts topped with arugula-kombu aioli and nori.
Why we’re so excited to work with Nyesha
We’re big-time Nyesha Arrington fans here at Shake Shack. From competing on ‘Top Chef’ Season 9 to opening beloved West Coast restaurants like Native in Santa Monica and Leona in Venice, Nyesha has been around many famous kitchens and we couldn’t wait to welcome her into ours. With Nyesha’s impressive career, passion for food, and unique knack for bringing her African-American-Korean background into her dishes, we knew this collab was going to be something special.
A delicious burger for a great cause
Last year, we announced a donation component to our Shake Shack chef collabs that gives net proceeds to a charity of choice. For Nyesha, there was no question where these proceeds should go, which is why we will be donating to The Collective Identity — a grassroots, Los Angeles based non-profit founded by Black women, for Black women and girls. Nyesha serves as the Executive Director seeking to “directly impact young Black women’s lives to help open doors of opportunity and growth.” We’re thrilled to introduce The Collective Identity to our Shack community and invite you to learn more about mentorship opportunities by visiting their website: www.thecollectiveidentity.org
