In 2020, we continued to increase our investment in sustainable and regenerative agriculture, sourcing over one million pounds of natural, sustainable, and humanely raised pork from our partners at Niman Ranch and over 250,000 pounds of regeneratively ranched beef.
Continuing the momentum from our industry-leading switch to compostable straws in 2019, select Shacks began piloting compostable, soil degradable, and marine degradable AirCarbon® cutlery + straws earlier this year.
Next up, our California and Washington Shacks will start testing brand-new reusable, aluminum SHACK20® water bottles!
CORE VALUES
We pride ourselves on sourcing premium ingredients like 100% antibiotic- and hormone-free proteins (beef, chicken, and pork) that are always vegetarian fed, humanely raised, source verified—plus, raised and harvested in the USA. Our beef and chicken are always fresh, never frozen.
Additionally, we’ve remained committed to using cage-free eggs in all our food and have done so for the past three years. All our buns are non-GMO and our vanilla and chocolate frozen custard recipes use only real sugar (no high-fructose corn syrup!) and milk from dairy farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones.
OUR SHACKS
Our Shacks feature reclaimed, salvaged, and certified materials, including tables made from reclaimed bowling lanes! We’re proud to have eliminated nearly 165,000 pounds of trash and recycled 1.8 million pounds of waste oil in 2020.
